Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) is an institutional project of the ICAR to demonstrate the application of Science and Technology input of agricultural research and education at the farmer’s field and in the rural area with the help of a multidisciplinary team of scientists
It is a research oriented extension project to test, validate, refine and disseminate agriculture and allied technologies in the rural areas.

Activities of the KVK
On Farm Testing to identify location specificity of agricultural technologies under various farming systems.
Front Line Demonstrations to establish its production potentials on the farmers fields .
Trainings of farmers to update their knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies, and training of extension personnel to orient them in the frontier areas of technology development.
To work as Resource and Knowledge Centre of agricultural technology for supporting initiatives of public, private and voluntary sector for improving the agricultural economy of the district.
In order to create awareness about improved technology, a large number of extension activities will be taken up. The seeds and planting materials produced by the KVKs will also be made available to the farmers.
In Telangana presently 16 KVK’s are there.

KVK Karimnagar was established during 1992 under the management of an NGO “Grama Nava Nirman Samithi” (GNNS) based at Jammikunta.
Sri. P. Janardan Reddy Former MLA is Chairman & Founder Director of this KVK.
